4h 30min
Very difficult
  • Discover the western Chartreuse massif and the Corbeley lookout! This route, often in forest, is ideal for cooling off near the Merderet torrent. Beware: access to the summit is difficult.

  • D/ Chantres parking lot

1/ Take the stony track that runs under the power line.
After crossing a bridge, turn left and head up into the forest along a yellow-marked path.

Further on, leave the main track and turn left onto the small path (marked by a small cairn) that climbs into the forest.
After a short climb, you reach the base of the rocks. A cable helps you up the steep slope to the Corbeley lookout.

3/ On the way back, follow the same route to the Col du Planet, where you briefly follow the signs for the Col du Mollard.
After crossing a stream, stay on the path and ignore the tracks leading up on your right.
A little further down, look out for a downhill path on the right, signposted "Tour de la Drière".

4/ Follow the yellow markings downhill for about 2km to reach an unnamed stream, which you cross.
Immediately afterwards, you join a forest track at the Chalet de la Gorgeat.

5/ Follow this road until you reach the Chantres parking lot.
