Founded in 1948, this chapel is "a token of gratitude from the people of Le Sappey, their village having been spared during the 1939-45 war". A must-see in Le Sappey.
A wooden chapel in the heart of the hamlet of Churut, high above Le Sappey en Chartreuse. The chapel was built at the instigation of Lucie Bonfils, with the active participation of local craftsmen, and thanks to a subscription to which the inhabitants readily responded. The Jay-navizet family donated the land. It was consecrated by Mgr Vittoz, axillary bishop of Grenoble, on May 23, 1948.
